Diet and Nutritional Knowledge
All age groups, and for all periods since diagnosis, participants improved their diet and nutritional knowledge. Nutritional knowledge was reported to be improved by 85% of participants diagnosed for between 5-9 years. Those reporting least improvement 71%, had been diagnosed less than 1 year. However, participants diagnosed for less than 1 year, 79%, reported the greatest incidences of eating more healthily since their CD diagnosis, and those diagnosed for 3-4 years reporting least healthy eating at 58%.
There was less perceived improvement in cooking and food preparation skills. 52% of participants diagnosed 5-9 years disagreed their food preparation skills had improved. Overall, slightly more participants believed their cooking and preparation skills had not improved than those that believed they had.
