Unintentional Gluten Consumption

Unintentional gluten consumption remains high, regardless of age, or time since diagnosis, resulting in almost 50% of participants experiencing on-going symptoms across all age groups.

Participants reported that to assist with safe food choices 89% always check for “Gluten Free” wording on food labels, 11% sometimes check and just 0.5% never do. Checking for the “Crossed Grains” symbol is always used by 75% of participants , sometimes by 30% and never by 4%. Checking for nutritional content was less frequently employed with just 56% always reading food labels.
